Congratulations to Joey Stahl, who has been promoted to Senior Project Archaeologist!

Joey joined Alpine in 2020 and has regularly supervised archaeological crews during survey and excavation projects throughout Alpine’s service area. Joey’s work on Alpine’s on-call contract with the Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety included the inventory and reporting of over 160 mining closures throughout Colorado. Alpine’s Laboratory Supervisor Abbie Harrison does STEM outreach at local middle school!

  Abbie specializes in the identification and interpretation of plant materials from archaeological contexts. Last week, she had the opportunity to join Columbine Middle School’s 7th grade class on a field trip to the Hotchkiss National Fish Hatchery. Abbie discussed her macrobotanical work and taught the students about archaeology, paleoethnobotany, and careers in STEM!
