Sara, along with fellow researchers, share exciting new findings from a Colorado State Historic Fund project at the Francisco Fort located in La Veta, Colorado. In 2023, Alpine Project Archaeologist, Jena Sadd oversaw excavations of a small area in the plaza that uncovered an old fire pit. The fire pit was recently dated to AD 1721 to 1814, around 300 years ago! Read more in the link below.
